In this article, we will be bringing to you the comprehensive information of SBI PO selection procedure 2020.

The State Bank of India (SBI) conducts the SBI PO Exam every year to select the eligible candidates from the list of major applicants for the position of probationary officer.

SBI PO Selection procedure is considered to be one of the most premium jobs in the banking sector and millions of applicants across India apply for this exam to get dream bank job.

SBI PO Selection procedure is conducted every year and candidates from across the country are looking for opportunities to enter the largest public sector bank in the country.

SBI PO Selection procedure

The SBI PO Selection procedure is in three parts( preliminary exams, Mains exams, group discussions and in-person interviews.)  

The preliminary examination will be conducted on June 8, 9, 15 and 16, 2020, which have sections (English language, quantitative perspective and reasoning ability).

After clearing the prelims according to the bank cut offset, the candidate will go to SBI PO Main Exam.

The examinations will be held both online and offline on July 20th. It has 2 parts (Objective Test and Descriptive Test).

Candidates will have to go through the final phase of the group discussion to qualify for the final merit list and will be eligible for a personal interview.

The final quality will be based on the score of the main paper and GD + PI. The primary test score is not calculated for the final exam.

Interviews consisted of 30 points and 20 points of group exercise. Written tests weigh 75% while GD and PI weigh 25%.

SBI PO Selection procedure|Preliminary Exam

The preliminary examination of SBI PO consists of three sections – English Language, quantitative aptitude and Reasoning Ability.

This question will be asked as multiple choice where 1 out of 5 given candidates will have to mark the correct answer.

For each correct answer, the candidate will be given 1 point but subtract 0.25 marks from each wrong answer, but no marks will be deducted for the neglected question.

The duration required to complete the preliminary examination will be only 1 hour

Note:- Candidates will have to qualify for each of the three exams by fulfilling the passing score set by the bank. A sufficient number of candidates in each category (10 times the number of vacant posts subject to availability) will be shortlisted for mains exam.

SBI PO Selection procedure|Main Examination

The SBI PO Main Exam (Total 250 marks) is divided into two subjects – objective test (200 marks) and descriptive test (50 marks).. Both sections are taken online. The objective test is 3 hours and the descriptive test has to be completed in 30 minutes.

SBI PO Selection procedure (Descriptive Test)

Candidates should note that descriptive testing will start immediately after the SBI PO Objective Test is over. The descriptive test will consist of English language based questions (letter writing and essay writing).

Descriptive testing will also be conducted online.

The total score given for the descriptive test is 50 points and the test duration is 30 minutes.

Both objective and descriptive tests are conducted on the same day.

Note: Only those descriptive test papers will be evaluated for those candidates who have achieved the qualification score in the objective test and have been ranked high enough in the objective test overall score.

 

Group Discussion and Interviews (GD&PI)

Candidates will be called for group discussion after qualifying from Bank cut offset of SBI PO Male Examination.

At the end of the group discussion session, the candidates will be called for a personal interview which will test the personality of the candidates. With qualifications and other qualities.

  • There are 20 points in group discussion / exercise
  • The personal interview round consists of 30 points.
  • The final quality list will be based on scores obtained between major and GD / PI stages.
  • Prelims score will not be calculated in the final quality list.
  • After conducting all the interviews through the Board, a final quality list will be prepared and after verification, the candidates will be successfully recruited.

SBI PO 2020 Final Selection Process

The final selection of the candidates will be based on the score obtained in the SBI PO Main Examination and Group Discussion / Interview session.

The final quality list is prepared on the basis of the marks obtained in SBI Main and GD and PI. The weight of written tests and GD / PI are 75% and 25% respectively.

Candidates will be selected in the last two phases of the SBI PO Selection procedure, namely the SBI PO Main Examination and Group Discussion and Interview sessions.

The marks obtained from the written test candidates (out of 3 marks) will be converted from marks in marks and 5 points in the group discussions and interviews.

The final score will be prepared with a written list of written exams and group discussions and interviews, and a combined list of four points. The highest quality candidates from each category will be selected.

The list of eligible candidates will be uploaded on the official website of the bank during the discussion and interview sessions of the group.
